Question 1

What are wood pellets?

Accepted Answer

Wood pellets are a compressed biomass fuel made from dry wood residues such as sawdust and shavings. They are pressed into small cylinders and used in pellet stoves, pellet boilers and commercial heating systems.

Question 2

What size wood pellets should I use?

Accepted Answer

Most domestic pellet stoves and boilers use 6 mm pellets. Some appliances accept 8 mm pellets. Always check your appliance manual before ordering.

Question 3

How many bags do I need?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the size of the space, insulation and how long your appliance runs. A domestic stove used daily through the heating season often uses between one and three tonnes per season. Contact us and we can help you estimate.

Question 4

How should wood pellets be stored?

Accepted Answer

Store pellets in a dry, ventilated space, off the ground and away from direct wall contact. Keep bags sealed until use — moisture causes pellets to swell and crumble, which can block the feed system.

Question 5

What is A1 pellet grade?

Accepted Answer

A1 is the highest residential grade under the common EN ISO 17225-2 classification, with the tightest limits on ash and moisture. It generally means cleaner burning and less frequent cleaning of your appliance.
